The Aquasan Process for Drinking water

Drinking water treatment is a key responsibility that is intended to ensure the safety of the water supply and to rigorously uphold current quality standards. Each water source, be it surface water or groundwater, has specific characteristics and challenges that require a tailored approach.

Optimizing drinking water production in a constantly changing environment requires the support of a dedicated specialist who understands both the specific characteristics of your plant and your operational challenges. Sustainable and effective optimization cannot be done remotely. It needs to be done in collaboration between your team and ours to achieve optimal results. This true collaboration is what we call the Aquasan process. Aquasan's initial assessment, jar-testing and jar-testing reports are always free of charge. It is a service we are proud to offer.

1. Initial Assessment

At Aquasan, we understand the supply challenges faced by municipalities, especially smaller ones. Obtaining totes and barrels of coagulants and other commodity products that are adapted to their facility needs can be a real challenge. This is especially true since seasonal fluctuations sometimes exacerbate this reality by forcing some towns to adjust their chemical inputs to these formats. Our expertise extends to all the products we offer, including coagulants, commodity products, and polymers. Selecting and qualifying the polymer best suited to your type of water is an integral part of the services our team provides. As an business with over 25 years of experience, we offer practical and customized solutions so that every drinking water production plant can benefit fully from our expertise.

The initial assessment is a crucial step of the Aquasan process, as it allows us to get a true understanding of the challenges and opportunities that your drinking water treatment system offers. Here are some of the steps that your account specialist will take in order to get a better understanding of your system:

  • Survey of facilities and available space
  • Survey of equipment
  • Survey of hydraulic flow
  • Survey of the existing challenges
  • Survey of the main contaminants
  • Survey of the objectives

By getting all of the information, your Aquasan dedicated technical specialist can start to implement and design a strategy tailored to your specific needs.

2. Jar-testing, mobile laboratory and chemistry optimization

Jar-testing is an essential tool for identifying the most effective chemical combination on a small scale. With our mobile jar-testing kit, Aquasan can test directly on-site, ensuring that the water tests accurately reflect all possible situations, from normal operating conditions to sporadic events. These on-site tests ensure that our chemistry meets the most stringent drinking water quality standards to which your facilities are subject. Once the optimal solution has been identified, your Aquasan account specialist will pinpoint the dosage required to proceed to a plant-wide trial.

Aquasan’s coagulants and other commodity products are available in totes or barrels, and its polymers are available in 25 kg or 750kg bags. Once the right format has been selected, our logistics team ensures that the recommended chemicals are delivered quickly and in a way that perfectly suits your needs. With Aquasan, you benefit from a customized, efficient, and reliable approach to optimizing your drinking water treatment processes.

3.Plant Trial

The plant trial is the next step of the Aquasan process. When a chemistry change is made, it is always vital to do a test on the chain of treatment to verify that the expected monetary or performance gains are observed on your equipment. Your Aquasan account specialist will remain at your disposal to provide you with the support you need during this transition.

Ultimately, the Aquasan process is a way to streamline the optimization and operation processes of your drinking water production system. Our goal is to make sure that we are as valuable an asset as our customers are to us.
